The Atlantic World
History Department, Rice University
The History Department at Rice University in Houston, Texas, includes faculty who specialize in almost every region of the world and period. Its members research and teach on Asia, the Near and Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, the African Diaspora, Europe and the United States. One of the major focuses in the department is the Atlantic World. Rice also has interdisciplinary centers like the Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality and the Chao Center for Asian Studies making it an ideal place for study for undergraduate and graduate students.
