Doing History
North Arizona University
Two recent initiatives sum up the commitment of the Department of History at Northern Arizona University to preparing its graduates to function well in the global environment: 1) a project to infuse global issues throughout the curriculum; and 2) a Teaching American History Grant to enhance in-service teacher preparation. The two components are linked through a common curriculum required for the preparation of teachers at the undergraduate level, but the TAH project takes it further into advancing the preparation of in-service teachers for thinking and teaching more about the process of “doing history.”
